School Winter Holidays: Punjab Schools Closed Until Jan 14, Check Details Here

Punjab School Closed: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwat Mann announced that keeping in mind the intense cold conditions in the state all government and private schools in the state will remain closed from January 8 to 14, 2024. The schools will be shut for students until class 10 while the schools will remain open for students from class  11 and 12. Classes will be conducted from 10 am to 3 pm. 

As per the latest warning issued by the weather department, dense fog along with cold days is expected to continue in regions such as Pathankot, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ropar, Mohali, and Patiala districts until Tuesday.

Other districts like Bathinda, Barnala, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga,  Mansa, and Sangrur are expected to experience dense fog conditions until today, and conditions are expected to improve by tomorrow. The India Meteorological Department has further warned of prevailing cold conditions with an increased likelihood of various illnesses and flu.

Delhi Winter Vacation 2024 Extended Until January 12

Delhi School Education Minister Atishi has announced the extension of winter vacations for schools in the national capital. Schools in the city will remain closed until January 12, 2024. The holiday will be applicable for students from nursery to class 5. The holiday has been extended considering the ongoing cold wave and the yellow alert issued by the IMD. Parents and students are advised to keep in touch with the school authorities for further updates regarding the Delhi school winter vacations. 

According to an earlier order issued the Delhi winter vacations were extended to January 10, 2024, for government-aided and unaided schools due to the extreme cold wave and yellow alert issued. This has now been extended to January 12, 2024.
