Delhi Winter Vacation 2024: Delhi School Education Minister Atishi has announced the extension of Delhi's winter vacation. Schools in the city shall now remain closed till January 12, 2024. The order applies to classes from Nursery to 5th due to the ongoing cold wave and issuance of yellow alerts by IMD. The Delhi Minister took to the microblogging site X to announce the closure reads, ''Schools in Delhi will remain closed for the next 5 days due to the prevailing cold weather conditions, for students from Nursery to Class 5.’’
Delhi Winter Vacation 2024 Previous Extension Cancelled
In an earlier order stated January 6, the Delhi government had extended the Delhi winter vacations until January 10, 2024, for all government-aided, unaided, and recognised private schools due to the extreme cold wave and yellow alert.
However, the notice was quickly withdrawn and a fresh notice was released cancelling the extensions. The prior order, dated January 6, 2024, extending the Winter vacation, is categorically declared to be void in the withdrawal notification, numbered DE.23(3)/Sch.Br./2024/19. Additionally, the notice indicates that there may be more orders on this topic in the future.
Afterward, the Education Minister issued a notice for Delhi winter vacation 2024 extension till January 12, from class Nursery to 5th.
