AP, Telangana Schools Closed Today, September 3: Andhra Pradesh state has announced a holiday for today, September 3, 2024 due to the nonstop rain in the state. The weather department has issued a red alert for heavy rain in the state issuing warnings for several districts regarding excessive rainfall. District collector earlier announced a holiday for September 2 due to torrential rains experienced in the state.
After careful consideration however, a holiday has been announced for schools and colleges for today, September 3, 2024. Students and parents are advised to keep in touch with the school administration regarding the reopening and latest updates on school holidays.

Today, September 3, 2024 has been declared a holiday for schools, colleges and other educational institutions due to continuous heavy rains. Alerts have also been issued in certain districts for continuous rain until September 5, 2024.
Telangana School Closed Today
Schools in the districts of Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Nirmal and Khammam have been given a holiday due to heavy rainfall in the area.
AP, Telangana Schools Closed on September 2
Due to continuous rains in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, schools in the state will remain closed today, September 2, 2024. The decision to close schools today has been taken considering the warning issued by the India Meteorological Department. Students and parents are advised to keep contact with the school administration for further details on the reopening of schools.
It must be noted that both government and private schools in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will remain closed today. The order for school holidays was first issued for the Hyderabad region in Telangana but considering the weather, the same was extended to the entire state.
Hyderabad District Collector and District Magistrate made the announcement of school holidays on the social media platform X formerly known as Twitter.
Due to the forecast of heavy rains in Hyderabad District, all Primary and Secondary Schools, under all managements (Government, Aided, and Private), are hereby declared a holiday on Monday, 02-09-2024, as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the children.

IMD has also forecasted heavy rainfall today in Telangana. Red, Orange and Yellow alerts were issued in all districts of Telangana on September 1, 2024. Rivers have swelled up in both states and several people are being rescued and evacuated to relief camps.
