School Closed Due to Rain: Several districts in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh have closed the educational institutions for all classes today. The decision has been taken in view of the warning issued by the India Meteorological Department stating heavy rainfall in these areas for the upcoming 2-3 days. IMD has alerted everyone of moderate to high risk of flash floods, specifically in parts of west Uttar Pradesh, and east and west Madhya Pradesh.
Heavy rainfall might lead to localised flooding of streets, pooling of water in areas close to sea level, and the closure of overpasses, particularly in urban regions, ‘’Traffic disruptions are likely due to waterlogged roads, and visibility may be reduced in some areas. Minor damage to kutcha (unpaved) roads and vulnerable structures is possible, along with landslides and damage to crops due to the rain and wind, ‘’ IMD stated.
