Punjab School Holidays: Schools in Punjab remained shut from December 14 to 31, 2023 due to harsh and cold weather. As per the holiday schedule, students had to return to school on January 1, 2024. Punjab School Timings Changed Due to Cold Winters
As per the media reports, the Punjab government has changed the school timings from January to 14, 2024. The state schools will now run between 10.00 AM and 3.00 PM. The decision is effective from January 1, 2024 onwards.
The government had opened the schools on Monday. Schools in Punjab witnessed a massive drop in attendance since the majority of them were absent due to biting cold and dense fog.

Winter Vacation in Haryana Schools 2024
Haryana winter vacations 2024 have started from January 1 and will continue til January 15, 2024. The decision has been taken because of the dropping temperature.
Temperature Drops in Punjab and Haryana: IMD Reports
According to the PTI reports, on Monday, the low temperature was witnessed in many regions of Punjab and Haryana. As per the Indian Meteorological Department report, Faridkot had a low of 8 degrees Celsius, Ludhiana recorded 8.2 degrees Celsius and Amritsar 9.2 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh witnessed a low of 9.2 degrees Celsius.
