Guru Nanak Jayanti 2024: School Holiday On November 15, Check List of States

Schools across several states in India will remain closed tomorrow, November 15, 2024, on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti or Guruparb. A gazetted holiday has been announced marking the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism. Along with Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartik Purnima will be celebrated on the same day.

Schools in Punjab will have two days of school holidays on this occasion. While November 15th will be the designated holiday for Guru Nanak Jayanti, Schools will also remain closed on November 16th in honour of the martyrdom of Katar Singh Sarabha.

Karnataka School Holidays

Schools in Karnataka closed from November 13 to 18, 2024. Schools in Karnataka will remain closed from November 13, 2024, onwards with prominent festivals and celebrations starting with Tulsi Pooja on November 13, followed by Children’s Day on November 14 and Guru Nanak Jayanti on November 15. Kartik Purnima is also being celebrated on November 15th. The upcoming Saturday - November 16th will be a half day followed by Sunday when schools will remain closed. November 18th, again will be a school holiday in Karnataka on the occasion of Kanakadasa Jayanti.

Schools to Remain Closed in These States on November 15

November started with Diwali Holidays for students followed by the Chhath Puja holidays in a few of the states. Now again, the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti falls on Friday, November 15th which will be a holiday. With Saturday and Sunday coming up, students will have a long weekend and schools will reopen on Monday, November 18, 2024.
