Tamil Nadu School News Today: IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall in State
The Indian Meteorological Department, IMD has predicted heavy rainfall over South Peninsular until tomorrow. Due to bad weather, the Tamil Nadu school holiday has been declared in many districts. As per the reports, regions including Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai, Ranipet, Vellore, Tiruvallur, Chennai, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli districts, and Puducherry are expected to witness heavy rainfall.
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, rain is likely to shower in various parts of Tamil Nadu in the forthcoming week. Due to this, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin has urged Rs.12,000 crore in central assistance and an immediate relief fund of Rs 7,300 crore.
School Holidays in Punjab Extended
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwat Mann announced that keeping in mind the intense cold conditions in the state all government and private schools in the state shall remain closed from January 8 to 14, 2024. The schools will be closed for students till class 10 while the schools will remain open for students from classes 11 and 12 between 10.00 am and 3.00 pm.
Delhi Winter Vacation 2024 Extended
Delhi School Education Minister Atishi has announced the extension of Delhi's winter vacation. Schools in the city shall now remain closed till January 12, 2024. The order applies to classes from Nursery to 5th due to the ongoing cold wave and issuance of yellow alerts by IMD.
