CBSE Disaffiliated Schools List: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted a surprise inspection of 27 affiliated schools in Delhi and Rajasthan. Upon scrutiny, the board found non-compliance with guidelines for student’s regular attendance. As a result, CBSE decided to withdraw its affiliation/association from 21 schools and downgraded 6 schools from senior secondary to secondary level.

According to the board, “The dummy or non-attending schools undermine educational integrity and issued show cause notices, allowing schools 30 days to respond. The vital observations of the Surprise Inspection Committees in regard of the irregularities observed during the inspections were communicated as a report to the respective schools.’’

CBSE board has decided to take the affiliation back based on the response submitted by school authorities, survey findings, and video evidence. In these 21 schools, the authorities found a considerable number of non-attending students from classes 9 to 12.

“The practice of dummy/ non-attending admissions contradicts the core mission of school education, compromising students' foundational growth. We are taking decisive action to combat the proliferation of dummy schools and send a clear message to all affiliated institutions to resist the lure of accepting dummy or non-attending admissions, ‘’ it further added.

What Will Happen to Class 10, 12 Students Preparing for Board Exams?

CBSE has recently disaffiliated a total of 21 schools and downgraded 6 others across Delhi and Rajasthan. Now, a lot of students must be stressed out and uncertain about their academic future. Especially those students who are in 10 or 12 standards and are about to appear in upcoming board exams.

Will they get the CBSE marksheet or not? How this disassociation is going to impact them? Just relax, we’re going to respond to all of your queries.

In such situations when the board has to disaffiliate schools amidst the session, the following things take place:

  • Transition Period: CBSE provides a grace period to the students studying in class 10 or 12 so that they can complete their exams under CBSE affiliation. Sometimes schools retain CBSE recognition for a limited period, to ensure that students nearing their exams can appear through the board.
  • Transfer to Nearby Schools: CBSE makes alternative arrangements to shift the affected students to nearby CBSE-affiliated schools allowing them to complete their studies and take exams. This seems like a hustle but helps students get a CBSE mark sheet.
  • Legal Recourse: In some circumstances, parents and schools sometimes seek legal intervention to permit students to sit for CBSE exams if no other solutions are available.

Other solutions include:

  • Allowing students to appear for board exams as private candidates.
  • Permitting them to write exams from nearby CBSE-affiliated schools while continuing studies at their current school.

IMPORTANT NOTE *Parents and Students must note that CBSE or school administration might choose any of the above-mentioned ways to help students get the CBSE mark sheet as per their willingness. However, these are not the only ways to act in such situations. It is advisable to get in touch with the school administration for authoritative information.*
