The new amendments by the AICTE have received criticism earlier on as class 12 maths is considered the foundation for engineering the bridge course will not be able to replace class 12 maths is considered as it is the only remedial course and the engineering curriculum has maths until the fifth semester.
AICTE chairman has stated that it is not optional but the subject opinions for the engineering discipline have been expanded. There will also be different mandatory courses for different disciplines. According to esports different courses like data science and artificial intelligence will be required a lot of understanding of mathematics which is why the AICTE must rethink the amendments done in the approval process handbook 2021-22.
