Puducherry Directorate of School Education declares 'All Pass' for students from class 1-9

Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has approved the proposal to declare an All Pass this academic year for the students from class 1 to 9 in Puducherry. Puducherry to Pass students

According to a tweet issued the Puducherry Directorate of School Education has declared ‘All Pass’ for the students from class 1 to 9. The proposal was earlier presented to the Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan who had approved the proposal. The Directorate of School Education will be conducting a one-day stress-free assessment, in the last week of March.

The Puducherry government has also announced that the Schools in Puducherry will function until March 31, 2021, for classes 1-9 while the summer vacation will commence from April 1, 2021. It has further been announced that the Classes for the students from 10, 11, and 12 will be conducted until the commencement of Public Examination in the respective regions according to the schedule of the respective Boards. 

According to Twitter issued by the media, the students studying in classes 10 and 11 in schools affiliated to Tamil Nadu Board in  Puducherry and Karaikal regions have been declared ‘All Pass’. The government has announced that the guidelines issued by Tamil Nadu State Board will be followed for the schools in the Puducherry and Karaikal regions.

Schools to function until March 31

The schools will be functioning until March 31, 2021, for the students from class 1 to 9 for five days a week and will also observe Saturdays and Sundays as holidays. The Summer vacation will be commencing for the schools on April 1, 2021, and the classes for the students from classes 10, 11, and 12 will be conducted according to the schedule for the examinations of the respective State Board of Education.

Approval for applications of monthly assistance

As per the official release, the Lieutenant Governor has given the approval for the application of Rs. 29.65 Crore to be distributed monthly assistance to beneficiaries of Old Age pension and destitute. Close to 1.54 Lakh persons are benefitted from the scheme.

The governor has also given her approval to a proposal to declare the closure of all arrack, toddy, shops, clubs, bars, and restaurants serving liquor in the Union Territory from April 4 to 6 considering the election of an assembly to be conducted for April 6, 2021. The shops will remain closed on May 2 and 3, 2021 considering the counting of votes.
