Hindu College Staff Association Urges DU Takeover, Demands Removal of Principal and GB Chairman
Delhi University Takeover: The Hindu College Staff Association (HCSA) has submitted a formal memorandum to Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh demanding that the university temporarily take over the college administration. Citing widespread financial, procurement, and admission irregularities, the staff body has urged the removal of Governing Body Chairman T.C.A. Rangachari and Principal Anju Srivastava to ensure an impartial inquiry.
Delhi University Takeover: The Hindu College Staff Association has requested the University of Delhi (DU) to take charge of the college and conduct an independent and time bound inquiry into the alleged irregularities in admissions, finances, procurements, appointments, and governance.
In its memorandum to the DU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yogesh Singh, the association made certain allegations regarding violations of the rules of university admission, bypassing of the Staff Council, financial and procurement irregularities, non-disclosure of audit documents and violations related to appointments and tenures.
Irregularities in supernumerary admissions have been reported even after objections raised by concerned teachers-in-charge and committee conveners. The association has alleged that the prescribed 20% cap and relevant DU ordinance were violated.
Another allegation made by the association is that a staff meeting for ratifying the admissions has been conducted as a Staff Council meeting but the said meeting was neither conducted nor attended by the Staff Council secretary.
