Formula-One Championship The 2009 Formula-One Championship was the 60th FIA Formula One World Championship. The season started on 29 March and ended on November 1. Britain’s Jenson Button won the Drivers Championship with 95 points. He was the winner in 6 out of 17 races. His team Brawn GP also grabbed the Constructors Championship. It was both Button and Brawn's first championship success, Brawn becoming the first team to win the Constructors Championship in their debut season. Rubens Barrichello, another driver of Brawn, secured third position while Sebastian Vettle of Red Bull-Renault came second. Ten teams participated in the championship and for the first time since 2005, all of them scored points. The Force India team, led by Indian businessman Vijay Mallya stood ninth in the championship.
