UP Schools Closed Due To Kumbh Mela: The District Magistrate has ordered the schools to shift to online mode due to ongoing traffic in Kumbh Mela. The schools have been closed due to the large crows returning from Prayagraj Maha Kumbh. The District Magistrate announced on the evening of January 26 that schools will stay closed, and online classes will be held for students from classes 1 to 12.
As per the directive, offline classes for grades 1 to 12 will be suspended in all schools until February 5. However, online classes will continue at the usual school timings to finish the syllabus. This rule applies to all CBSE, ICSE, and state board schools in the area.
Schedule For Practical Classes
The practical classes can take place in the school at per convenience. Students have to visit the school for practical exams if called while the online classes will continue as per the schedule. This step has been taken to reduce traffic congestion on the roads and maintain order.
Teachers to Attend Schools:
The order, issued by Basic Education Officer Arvind Pathak, states that teachers and school staff must report to school during this time.
Mauni Amavasya falls on January 29 this year. During the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, many devotees are heading to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Officials said that around 5 to 7 lakh devotees are arriving in Kashi every day before the event. Due to this, most schools have been switched to online classes.
