UP Board Exam 2025 Postponed Because of MahaKumbh: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has delayed the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams that were previously scheduled on February 24, 2025. This is due to the MahaKumbh 2025 being held in Prayagraj, which is likely to have a large turnout of devotees. The exams will be conducted on March 9, 2025.
Revised Exam Schedule
The exams that have been rescheduled include:
Class | Subject |
---|---|
Class 10 | Hindi, Healthcare papers |
Class 12 | Military Science, Hindi papers |
Exam Timing
These exams were initially planned to be held in two shifts:
- Shift 1: 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM
- Shift 2: 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM
New Exam Dates
Since the MahaKumbh and Mahashivratri will attract a huge number of people on February 26, 2025, the exams were rescheduled to prevent any kind of disruption. The new dates of exams, according to the updated UP Board schedule, are between February 28 and March 12, 2025.
Reason for Postponement
The Chairman and Director of Education (MO) UP Board asserted that the order was issued on receipt of a letter dated 18 February, 2025, expressing apprehensions regarding extensive movement of pilgrims during the MahaKumbh, particularly on February 26 being the last sacred bath day. The authorities did not wish to experience any transportation trouble or safety issues.
Official Announcement
Uttar Pradesh's Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Secondary Education, Gulab Devi, announced the deferment officially in Lucknow. She added that the postponement was done due to the massive turnout at Prayagraj's MahaKumbh and for free flow of traffic and public safety.
