UP Board Exam 2024: Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad began the UPMSP class 10 and class 12 exams on February 22, 2024. The exams were conducted across 8,265 centres across the state under CCTV surveillance and other measures taken by the board.
The exams were held in two shifts. The morning shift included the Hindi and Elementary Hindi papers for Class 10 students and Military Science for Class 12. The afternoon session included a Commerce paper for Class 10 and a Hindi, General Hindi paper for Class 12.
As per reports, 16% of students did not appear for the UP board exams on the first day. A total of 2,03,299 (14 per cent) were absent in the first shift from the 29,43,786 candidates who registered. For the second shift, 1,30,242 (19 per cent) were absent from the 24,67,715 registered candidates. As per the total numbers, 3,33,541 candidates (16.20%) were absent in both shifts.
Five Candidates Caught Cheating
As per reports from the board, on the first day of the exams, five candidates were caught using unfair means. On the first day of the UP board 10th exam four boys and one girl were caught using unfair means. An FIR has also been filed against seven impersonators caught during the first shift of the exam.
Safety Measures Taken For UP Board Exams
The Council of Secondary Education and all five regional offices of the council established command and control rooms for the first time this year ensuring the security of question papers. Online intensive monitoring of string rooms and examinations was also set up.
