Education Minister To Meet the VCs of Central Universities: The Meeting scheduled to be conducted between the Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal and the Vice-Chancellors of the Central Universities to be conducted today has been postponed. The Minister was scheduled to conduct the meeting to review the online education system amidst the COVID-19 situation in the country. The Minister was also expected to talk about the planning and implementation of the New National Education Education Policy 2020. This was the first virtual meeting to be conducted by the Education minister with the state education secretaries in the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Decision on CBSE board exams 2021
Though there is no official announcement regarding this, it is speculated that the education minister will also be discussing the conduction of the upcoming CBSE Class 12 board exams in 2021 amid the current pandemic situation across the country. The Central Board of Secondary Education has been flooded with requests to cancel the upcoming board exams keeping in mind the safety of the students during the second wave of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
Though students and parents across the country are urging the central government to cancel the CBSE Class 12 board exams, no final decision regarding this has been taken yet. The final dates of the board exams are expected to be announced soon. CBSE recently said, “It is clarified that no such decision (cancellation of exams) has been taken regarding class 12 board examinations, as being speculated. Any decision taken in this matter will be officially communicated to the public.”
Virtual Meeting Held Today
Earlier Today, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank conducted a virtual meeting with all state education secretaries. The top agenda of today's meeting was the promotion of online education, implementation of the New Education policy and preparation strategies made by the states.

The virtual meeting was scheduled for 11 am today, and any update is expected only in the afternoon. Students are expected to get more clarity on the examinations, online classes etc., after the outcomes of these two meetings to be chaired by the Education Minister.
