Tripura School Holiday: Schools Closed Today Due to Heavy Rainfall

Tripura Schools Closed Tomorrow: The Tripura State Government has announced a school holiday for today, August 22, 2024. All government, government-aided and private schools will remain closed today due to heavy rainfall, floods and landslides in the state. The state education department order issued stated that the decision to close down schools has been taken considering the weather conditions. 

Tripura Aditional Secretary Education (School) Department stated that due to the present weather conditions of heavy rainfall, landslides, and floods in the state, it has been decided that all schools including government, government-aided and private schools under TTAADC, Madrasas in the state will remain closed on August 21 and 22, 2024. The order issued has directed the District Education Officers to convey the decision to every school under their jurisdiction. 

According to the India Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected to continue in Tripura for the next two days. Regional Meteorological Centre, Agartala stated that associated cyclonic circulations extending upto 7.6 KM above sea level are likely to move north-north-westwards across West Bengal in the next 48 hours.
