TN Universities Semester Exam 2022 Postponed: With COVID-19 cases continuing to rise across the country, the Tamil Nadu Government has decided to order more restrictions, especially keeping the health and safety of college students in mind. In line with this, MK Stalin-led TN Govt has ordered the postponement of all upcoming university-level semester exams which are scheduled for latter half of the month. The exams postponed have been deferred indefinitely with no revised date for the same being notified as of now.
Decision Announced by Higher Education Minister
The decision about Tamil Nadu University Exams being postponed was announced by State Higher Education Minister K Ponmudi after meeting MK Stalin. In the press meet following the meeting with Tamil Nadu CM, Higher Education Minister K Ponmudi issued a statement saying "All university exams are being deferred indefinitely due to the surging covid numbers. The revised schedule will be announced later." Furthermore, he added that keeping the safety of college students in mind, “a circular has been already issued that colleges should not hold physical classes.”
Many of the state governments have instructed the schools, colleges, and other educational institutions to shut down due to the increasing COVID cases. To tackle the cases in TN, Chief Minister MK Stalin ordered the closure of schools until class 9. It was however earlier announced that the offline classes will continue for the students of classes 10 and 12 considering that the board exams are approaching.
New Medical Colleges
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating 11 new government medical colleges across Tamil Nadu while the new campus of Central Institute of Classical Tamil in Chennai was inaugurated via video conferencing today.
