Telangana Board Exam 2025: The Telangana State Government has decided to change the admission practice followed until now and instead launch a centralised online admission process for admissions to junior colleges in the state.
The change has been initiated considering the fee charged by corporate and private colleges besides streamlining the admission process.
The new admission portal will be brought in next year allowing students to apply to multiple junior colleges including, government, corporate and private colleges.
Presently, admissions to junior colleges in Telangana are conducted via the Degree Online Service Telangana. Admissions are conducted based on the marks secured by candidates in their intermediate exams and allotted colleges following a merit process and reservations. With the new portal, a similar approach is expected to be taken for admissions.
A fixed fee will be applied in the corporate and private junior colleges in the state before implementing the online admission portal.
Telangana SSC Grading System to be Replaced
The SSC Public Examination grading system has been in debate for quite some time. This also is a hurdle for the online admission process being introduced for junior colleges.
As per the grading system followed, class 10 students are allotted grades (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1, D2 and E) as part of their marking system depending on the marks range they have secured in their board exams. These grades are also difficult to compare and rank students during their online admission process and allot them seats.
The government has now decided to scrap the grading system completely and introduce the marks system. 100 percent marks will be given to external examinations. With the marks students will be ranked easily based on their scores, making the admission process smoother.
