Rajasthan School Holidays: Considering the rising air pollution levels, schools in Rajasthan’s Khairthal-Tijara district will remain closed until November 23, 2024. School holidays have been announced by the District Collector Kishore Kumar on Tuesday following the Supreme Court's directions to all states in the Delhi-NCR area to decide on conducting physical classes for students up to class 12 amid the dire situation. Schools will remain closed from November 20 to 23, 2024 in Khairthal-Tijara district for students from classes 1 to 5 in both government and private schools after taking into consideration the increasing air pollution in Rajasthan.
According to reports, an AQI of 380 has been reported in Bhiwadi (Khairthal), and in Karauli and Bikaner. The AQI was higher than 200 in 26 districts including Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Ganganagar, Tonk, Banswara, Dausa, Sawai Madhopur, Kota, Pratapgarh as well.
On November 18, the Central Pollution Control Board implemented the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) 4 in the Khairthal-Tijara district. Water sprinkling and smog guns are being used for dust control across the city.
