As per the media reports, Rs. 428.69 crores will be the total cost borne by the Punjab Government on an area of 20 acres for the construction of 16 medical colleges. Further, he said that the site will be named after Guru Nanak Dev.

A hostel facility will also be provided with a 300-bed hospital since many students from different states will also come to take admissions to these medical colleges. The chief minister stated that the architecture of these medical colleges has been finalized and work on this project is going to commence shortly.
