Pune Schools and Colleges to Reopen from 1st February, confirms Deputy CM Ajit Pawar

Pune Schools, College Reopening: Pune Schools and Colleges are slated to reopen for offline classes from 1st February 2022 onwards as confirmed by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar on Saturday. The decision comes following Maharashtra Govt’s earlier decision to allow reopening of schools and colleges depending on evaluation and decision by local authorities. The decision on Pune school reopening has been taken after a meeting held on reviewing the COVID-19 situation. The reopening of schools and Colleges in Pune is to be carried out in complete compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines and precautions announced by the state government and prescribed by the local authorities.

 

The news about reopening of educational institutions in Pune has been confirmed by National Media agency ANI. In a tweet sent out from its official twitter handle, the agency quoted Deputy CM Ajit Pawar as confirming the news about Pune Schools and College Reopening. The tweet read “Schools & colleges will reopen in Pune district from Feb 1. For classes 1 to 8, the school timings will be half of the regular timings, but for classes 9 to 10, the school will run as per the regular schedule. Colleges will also function as per regular time: Maharashtra Deputy CM.Consent from parents will be required to attend the school. The further decision for classes 1 to 8 will be taken in the next meeting: Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar.”

Half Day Classes for Class 1 to 8 Students

According to the announcement made by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, schools for Class 1 to 8 will operate for half-day i.e., for 4 hours, whereas for the rest of students i.e., Class 9 to 12 students, offline classes would be held as per their regular school schedule. Furthermore, students who want to attend offline or physical classes would be required to carry a consent letter from their parents to the school. On similar lines, Classes for College students are also expected to be held as per the regular schedule and should be held in adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.
