Maha Kumbh Prayagraj Updates: The ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj has led to significant disruptions in daily life due to the entry of devotees to the city. In response, local authorities have implemented measures to ensure the safety and continued education of students.
Prayagraj Schools Shift to Online Classes
Because of heavy traffic and overcrowding, the Prayagraj District Magistrate has decided that all schools (both government and private) for Classes 1 to 8 will have online classes from February 17 to February 20, 2025. This will help young students avoid travel difficulties.

Prayagraj School Teachers' Duties
While students study online, teachers must still go to school for important tasks. These include managing Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Aadhaar seeding, and Unique Disability ID (UDID) work. The administration has asked teachers to follow these rules properly.
Impact of the Maha Kumbh Mela on Prayagraj School
The Maha Kumbh Mela started on January 13, 2025, and has brought millions of pilgrims to Prayagraj. Due to the large crowd, there are traffic jams and pressure on public services. To reduce these problems, schools have stopped in-person classes for a few days.
The administration’s decision helps manage the city’s needs while allowing students to continue their education smoothly during the festival.
