Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a gathering launching the ‘Assam Mala’ scheme spoke about setting up at least one medical and technical institution in each state imparting education to the students in their native tongue. The prime minister was also laying the foundation for two new medical colleges in Assam along with the ‘Assam Mala Scheme’ to upgrade the state highways when he proposed the idea.
New institutions after Assam Assembly Elections
The Prime Minister while speaking at the ceremony added that there is no lack of talent in the villages and far areas adding that it is his dream that each state in the country must have at least one medical college and technical institution which imparts education in the regional language. He has also pointed out that such institutions will be set up in Assam after the state Assembly Elections.
New Institutions to improve medical services in remote areas
According to the opinions mentioned by the Prime Minister, the new institutions will improve the medical services in the remote areas in the state since more doctors will be able to reach out to the people in the native tongue and understand their problems better.
Two new medical colleges and hospitals will be set up in Biswanath and Charaideo districts in Assam. The Prime Minister further added that teaching and learning have been conducted in foreign languages which could be changed in the upcoming National Education Policy 2020.
The Prime Minister took to Twitter stating that taking inspiration from the National Education Policy the students in technical courses and medical and engineering courses will be taught in the mother tongue.
