NEET UG 2024 Supreme Court Hearing : The Supreme Court of India has commenced the hearing of the petitions filed on NEET UG paper leak and malpractice in the Medical Entrance exams conducted on May 5, 2024. The SC bench of Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra will hear the petitions today.
Conclusions of Previous Hearings
The first hearing of the NEET UG petitions filed were taken up on July 8, 2024. The supreme Court when concluding the hearing on the day stated that the NTA needs to provide a conclusion on the following points.
- When the paper leak first took place
- How the question papers were disseminated
- Time between the leak and the actual conduct of the exam
The hearing was further postponed to July 15, 2024 where the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing to July 18 to enable petitioners to file their responses to the affidavits filed by the Centre and the National Testing Agency.
NTA files Affidavit
NTA ahead of the hearing has told the Supreme Court that there was no systemic failure in the conduct of the exams. NTA affirmed the allegations of the petitioners that there was a systemic failure as candidates who have obtained higher marks only in the top rank of mark interval are misconceived and thus denied.

NEET UG Hearing 2024: NTA asked to upload the NEET-UG 2024 results on on July 19 by 5 pm
The Supreme Court in today's order has asked the NTA to upload the NEET UG 2024 results centre-wise on July 19, 2024 by 5 PM. The order has been out out to bring about transparency. the identities of the students should be masked, SC further added. Next hearing will be conducted on July 22, 2024 at 10:30 AM

NEET UG Hearing: Questions raised over transportation of question papers
The counsel representing petitioners stated that question papers were dispatched to the centres on April 24, 2024, through a private courier company which reached SBI and Canara Bank on May 3, 2024. NEET UG SC Hearing: Increase in the number of candidates
According to the statistics shared during the hearing in 2022, 49,134 candidates secured NEET Score between 550-720 which increased to 65,520 students in 2023 and 1,42,000 in 2024. Over 17.64 lakh students appeared for the NEET UG exam in 2022 which increased to 20.38 lakh in 2023, and 23.33 lakh in 2024. The number of top scorers increased by 70,000, it was further noted.

NEET UG Supreme Court hearing live: Toppers Spread Across 12 States, 1 UT
As per the clarification provided, out of the top 100 students, Tamil Nadu has eight toppers while AP, Bihar, and Gujarat have seven each, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh have six, Kerala, West Bengal and Maharashtra have five, Haryana has four, Delhi has three. NEET UG Supreme Court hearing today: No Systemic Failure Says NTA
The National Testing Agency filed a statement on the Supreme Court denying the allegations of a systemic failure in the conduct of the NEET UG exams. NEET UG Supreme Court Hearing 2024: Previous Verdicts
The petitions regarding the allegations of paper leak were first taken for hearing on July 8, 2024. The Supreme Court states that the paper leak is admitted and there is no doubt that the integrity of the exam has been compromised. The hearing was postponed to July 11, 2024.
During the July 11th hearing, the court adjourned the hearing to July 18 since some parties were yet to receive the responses filed by the Centre and NTA.
