The Supreme Court has issued a notice seeking a response from the National Testing Agency regarding the NEET UG controversy and the paper leak allegations. The court was hearing the petition filed by 10 students on grace marks, discrepancies and other irregularities. The Supreme Court has however refused to stay the NEET UG counselling process scheduled to begin soon.
The Supreme Court mentioned that the sanctity of the exam has been compromised and the court needs answers. The vacation bench consisting of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Ahsanuddin Ammanullah was hearing the petition.
The NEET UG 2024 results were announced on June 4, 2024. The petition filed by the aspirants claims that NEET UG was riddled with malpractices as petitioners reported paper leak allegations. The paper leak is a violation of Article 14 under the constitution as it gave an undue advantage to some candidates over others who chose to attempt the exams reasonably.
