NEET UG Results 2024: Re-exam for 1563 candidates

NEET 2024 Latest News: The Supreme Court has provided a verdict for the petitions filed on the NEET UG Result 2024. According to reports, the Supreme Court has suggested that the NEET UG 2024 results for 1563 students who were awarded grace marks will stand cancelled and withdrawn. Considering this, a re-exam will be applicable for said candidates.

The re-exam for the 1563 students will be held on June 23, 2024, and the results will be declared by June 30, 2024. The Vacation bench consisting of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta during the hearing stated that the candidates would be informed of their actual scores without the compensatory marks. The results of those who do not wish to appear for the exams will be declared based on the actual marks, the court added.

According to representatives, as for the allegations of unfair means, a meeting was held on June 10, 11 and 12, 2024 and the committee formed has recommended scorecards of 1563 candidates be cancelled. The re-exam will be conducted for these students.

Justice Sandeep Mehta stated that the two options were to either appear for the re-exams or consider non-normalised scores is contradictory and the results based on compensation marks need to be cancelled as a whole.

Stating that students at 6 exam centres faced the loss of time, Advocate Sai Deepak has requested the court to order a reopening of the portal for candidates who did not approach the court to apply for the re-exam.

NEET UG Counselling 2024

In an earlier hearing held on June 11, the Supreme Court refused to stay the NEET 2024 counselling and asked for the NTA’s response on the matter. The court noted that the Sanctity of the exams has been affected. The NTA argued this point and informed that 63 cases of unfair means were reported of which 23 students were debarred.
