NEET PG Counselling 2021: As per recent updates, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released an official notification for the candidates who want to change their categories to Unreserved (UR) category. Also, once the category gets converted from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Economically Weaker Section (EWS) or Persons with Disabilities (PwD) to unreserved (UR), then they will be treated as a UR in all the remaining rounds of NEET counselling.
Further, they will not be able to change their categories back. Earlier, on 12th January, the registration for NEET PG round 1 counselling started at mcc.nic.in. Eligible candidates can register for NEET PG counselling 2021 round 1 until 17th January.
Notice Released by MCC
It has been stated in the NEET PG counselling notice that, “As per the Counselling policy of MCC of DGHS, MoHFW, only the Central list of OBC-NCL is followed. It was at a later stage the candidates realised that they do not belong to OBC-NCL category of the Central OBC list. Candidates are advised to check their eligibility/qualification as UR i.e. 50th Percentile before converting their category to UR from SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD."
It further states, considering the said circumstances and as a one-time measure, “MCC of DGHS, MoHFW is allowing ‘Reset Button’ option which may be availed by only those candidates who wish to change their category from SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD to UR category for Round 1 of NEET PG Counselling, 2021 and subsequent rounds by paying the requisite fee”.

NEET PG 2021
Earlier, NBE released the result cum merit list for NEET PG 50% AIQ quota at natboard.edu.in. The Supreme Court, on 7th January, allowed the resumption of counselling for NEET PG 2021 with the existing OBC, EWS reservation. MCC NEET PG counselling 2021 is being conducted for 27% OBC and 10% EWS quota. Earlier, the NEET PG 2021 counselling was put on hold to review Rs 8 lakh criteria for determining the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
