NEET 2022: As per the media reports, this year more than 18 lakh candidates registered for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) undergraduate exam. After the conduction of the exam, the NEET result and answer key 2022 is awaited. As per the date available, the NEET UG answer key will be released by 30th August whereas the result will be announced on 7th September 2022.
Candidates will be given the provision to raise objections as well. Considering the objections raised by the candidates, the NEET UG result will be declared at neet.nta.nic.in. As soon as the result is released, the NEET UG counselling process will start for admission of the candidates to medical colleges.
What After The Announcement of NEET Result 2022?
Once the NEET UG result will be announced, the counselling procedure will start for admission to the medical colleges. Qualifying NEET is a requirement for admission to these medical courses. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct and release the NEET-UG 2022 counselling schedule at mcc.nic.in. There are two types of NEET counselling - All India and State counselling.
- NEET 2022 counselling will be held for 15% of All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government colleges and 100% in deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS, AIIMS, and JIPMER based on NEET 2022 scores. It is important to note that J & K are not involved in this process.
- Further, the counselling for 85% state quota seats for NEET 2022 will be conducted by the respective state authorities. Candidates participating in the NEET 2022 counselling for state quota will have to meet the domicile eligibility criteria.
NEET UG Counselling 2022 Process
As per the past trends, generally, MCC conducts NEET-UG 2022 counselling for AIQ in four rounds, including a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round. After completion of NEET UG round 2 counselling, the remaining seats will be filled in a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round by the MCC.

To participate in NEET UG counselling, candidates will have to complete the registration process. They need to fill choices and lock the same. Based on their preferences, the NEET round 1 seat allotment result will be announced. Those who have been allotted seats have to report to the Medical/Dental College, they will also have the option of free entry/exit.
Then NEET UG round 2 net vacant seats will be released, and candidates who have already registered will have to fill fresh choices and accordingly seats will be allocated in this round too.
