CBSE Syllabus 2024: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is set to revise the syllabus for Classes 3 and 6 of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The new academic structure will come into effect in the upcoming academic session 2024-25. The revised syllabus will be in line with the recommendations National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE). 

The NCERT reportedly wrote a letter to CBSE notifying them about implementing the changes in the academic framework. The letter stated that apart from the syllabus, the council will also provide guidelines for Class 3 and a syllabus bridge programme for Class 6 to CBSE, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS). The bridge course aims to facilitate students to transition smoothly to new pedagogical perspectives.

The initiative also focuses on areas such as Arts, Physical Education, Vocational Education, and The World Around Us for Class 3 students. The council plans to develop activity books and textbooks with new perspectives aligned with NCF-SE 2023.

NCERT’s New Syllabus 2024: Revised Timetable for Schools

As per the latest letter, the NCERT has directed CBSE to inform the school heads, teachers, and parents about the revision of the timetable and time allocation for Class 3, and 6 students. The council intends to formulate a strategy to engage young students in activity-based learning at the beginning of the academic year 2024-25. 

In addition, the NCERT stated that CBSE’s prompt action on this matter in collaboration with KVS and NVS would be highly appreciated. The council also emphasised the joint efforts of CBSE, KVS, and NVS under the direction of the school education department, syllabus and teaching-learning material committee, and curriculum framework oversight committee for implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) at the school level.
