MP Modern Schools: As per the reports, the Madhya Pradesh government gave a nod for setting up 350 schools with smart classes and other facilities at a cost of over Rs 6,950 crore. As per, Home Minister and MP government spokesman Narottam Mishra said, in a meeting held on Tuesday, the state cabinet cleared a proposal worth Rs 6,952 crore for setting up 350 schools with smart classes and other facilities for students. He further informed that these schools will serve students living in the 15 km periphery of their residence.
Modern Facilities in Schools
The schools will be equipped with modern facilities, including small classes, laboratories, libraries, sports and transport facilities for students, he said. Overall, 9,200 such schools will be opened in a phased manner in the state. In the first phase, one school each will be opened at district headquarters (52) and all blocks (261). Besides, 37 schools will be opened in big cities and other areas lacking such facilities. They will have classes from primary to 12th standard.
Free Education For Kids Orphaned due to COVID-19
Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that children who lost their parents or guardians to COVID-19 will be provided free education and Rs.5,000 monthly pension. Moreover, the CM also said that the state will grant loans on government guarantee to people who want to work. In the wake of an increasing number of children being orphaned amid the raging COVID-19 pandemic, the state government came to this decision.
Madhya Pradesh Board Exams 2021
On 2nd June, the CM announced the cancellation of the Madhya Pradesh Board class 12 exam. He further informed that the evaluation criteria will be announced soon. The Government after considering the situation has decided to cancel the class 12 examinations and follow CBSE's decision. Earlier, Madhya Pradesh School Education Department also cancelled the class 10th board examination 2021. The class 10th students will be assessed based on their mid-term exams or pre-boards, unit tests, and internal assessment.
