Lucknow School News Today: As the cold wave continues to hit Uttar Pradesh, the district administration of Lucknow has ordered all schools to conduct online classes till February 3, 2024. According to the latest notification, schools conducting offline classes will operate between 10 am to 3 pm only.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that there will be thick fog in north India for the next five days. The decision of the district administration comes amid the harsh weather conditions and dense fog. The authorities have also mentioned several guidelines in their official notice for the schools to strictly follow.

The school management is responsible for making adequate arrangements to protect students from cold in the classrooms. In order to maintain the temperature of the classrooms, room heaters must be installed. 

The school authorities must ensure that students are not made to sit outside or in the open for classes or practical examinations. 

The compulsion to wear school uniforms has also been abolished. Students can go to school wearing warm clothes.

Closure Of Schools In UP

Earlier, schools in Lucknow and Agra were closed for students from classes 1 to 8. The District Magistrates had issued an order for the closure of schools in Lucknow till January 27, 2024, and in Agra until January 24, 2024. The order issued by the Lucknow DM further directed all schools from classes nursery to 12 to close and operate in online mode. Meanwhile, the District Magistrate of Agra ordered for the closure of schools from nursery to class 8 while, changes in timings for classes 9 to 12.

The district officials are taking necessary steps to protect students and school staff from the harsh weather conditions in the region. All schools will operate in physical mode once the situation normalises. Meanwhile, school authorities are expected to follow the strict instructions given by the district administration.
