JEE Main 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will begin the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main 2024) Session 2 exams have begun today, April 4, 2024. The exam is being held in a computer-based test (CBT) mode at a variety of test centres spread across the country. Candidates can check the shift details and exam guidelines here.
The NTA has also made arrangements for 22 test centres abroad. Applicants are required to bring JEE Main admit card 2024 and a valid photo ID proof to the exam centre. JEE Main 2024 Timings
The JEE Main 2024 Exam session 2 will be held in two shifts. The duration of the exam is 3 hours, however, an additional duration of 30 minutes will be provided to the candidates appearing for JEE Main paper 2 BArch, BPlanning, which is scheduled to be held in the first shift on April 12.
The morning shift will start at 9 am and conclude at 12 pm. |
The evening shift will start at 3 pm and conclude at 6 pm. |
JEE Main 2024 Exam Day Guidelines
NTA has issued various instructions for the candidates that they must keep in mind before coming to the exam centre.
- Candidates must carry their JEE Main admit card to the examination hall.
- They must ensure that the bar code is clearly visible on the admit card.
- Candidates must ensure to reach the exam centres 30 minutes before the time mentioned in the admit card.
- Those who have not registered for JEE Main Exam Session 2 2024 using DigiLocker ID or ABC ID must reach the test centre an hour before the commencement of exams for verification.
- They must not bring phones, calculators, smart watches, or any other unauthorised items.
- He/she must avoid wearing clothes with metal parts like buttons, and zippers to make security checks easy.
- Candidates must not wear or carry any jewelry like rings, bracelets, or necklaces.

JEE Main Exam 2024: What things should be carried?
NTA has issued guidelines on the things that a candidate must carry to the exam centres. Following are the items that students are allowed to bring:
- JEE admit card along with valid photo ID proof.
- Valid photo ID proof includes- a school ID card, Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving license, voter ID, and passport.
- A hard copy of the self-declaration form
- Additional photograph for an attendance sheet.
- PwD certificate, if applicable.
- Blue or Black ballpoint pen along with a transparent water bottle.
- Fruits like bananas, oranges, apples, or sugar tablets, if the candidate is diabetic.
Candidates must not bring any sheet of paper for calculations. Sketch pads will be provided to them in the examination hall. They must return the pad to the invigilator before leaving the exam hall.
