Jammu Schools Closed: The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has announced the shutdown of schools for all classes up to higher secondary levels of the Jammu division. These educational institutions will remain closed between October 29 and November 2, 2024, because of Diwali festivities. Students will return to their schools on November 4, 2024.
The official notice as issued on the official site of DSEJ states that “ It is hereby ordered that all the Educational institutions Government / Private up to Higher Secondary levels (Summer / Winter Zones) of Jammu Division shall observe Five (5) days Pooja Holidays w.e.f 29-10-2024 to 02-11-2024.”
Diwali 2024 holidays will allow the students to enjoy Chhoti Diwali, Deepawali, Govardhan Puja, and Bhai doj to the fullest. Students/Parents having any issues or queries can contact the school administration.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu has also announced the closure of schools in the state on November 1, 2024. It has been declared a public holiday so that students and teachers can celebrate the auspicious occasion of Diwali at their homes. Various states such as UP, Delhi, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh have announced holidays given Diwali festivities.
