Jammu and Kashmir Administration has announced that the reopening of the schools and colleges in the region has been postponed further with the nationwide lockdown being extended. According to the reports, the schools and colleges in Jammu and Kashmir will be closed until May 17, 2020, which is the last date for the extended lockdown period.
A spokesperson for Jammu and Kashmir Rohit Kansal stated that all the educational and training institutions will be closed in the region until May 17, 2020, as the lockdown has been further extended by the government.
Efforts made by Jammu and Kashmir Administration
The Jammu and Kashmir Administration has been helping the students of the region during the time of the lockdown in order to make sure that online classes are being conducted for the students along with providing books and study materials for the students.
The conditions of the students and their learning has been taken into consideration by the Union Territory Administration adding that the learning process must go on for the students which is why the authorities organized radio classes for the students in collaboration with the All India Radio for the students who do not have access to an internet connection.
The educational institutions which include the schools, public or private schools, and colleges and the universities of the state will remain closed due to the extended lockdown.
Jammu and Kashmir have seen an increased number of COVID-19 cases in the state which is why the government decided to extend the lockdown in the state earlier until May 4, 2020. This lockdown, however, has been further extended until May 17, 2020.
