IIT KGP GATE Exam Results 2022 Declared; What is Next Step?

GATE 2022: As per the recent updates, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur announced the result of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) today. To check the GATE result, candidates will have to use enrollment ID and password on the official website - gate.iitkgp.ac.in. Along with the result, the authorities have also released the cut off for the candidates. 

All the qualified candidates will be eligible for admission to M.Tech courses offered by various institutes. Also, the scores are considered for PSU recruitment through GATE. Here, candidates can check what's next after qualifying in GATE 2022. 

What After GATE Result? 

After qualifying in the GATE, various options open up for the candidates. All the qualified candidates are eligible for PSU Recruitments and fellowships and in addition to that such candidates can also opt for study abroad options. They should know about these options carefully to make an informed decision. 

Going for Post-Graduation: After qualifying GATE, most of the candidates opts to pursue M.E/M.Tech/PhD in NITs, IIITs, IITs and CFTIs. Selection of the candidates in any institute is done based on their GATE scores. Every institute releases its admission cutoffs. Those meeting the cutoff scores will be eligible for admission at the choice of their institute.

PSU Recruitment Through GATE: Many Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) have started recruiting GATE qualified candidates based on their scores. In 2020, PSUs like ONGC, Power Grid, NTPC, IOCL, BHEL, DRDO announced direct recruitment of candidates based on GATE scores. Many candidates appear for GATE for PSU recruitment only because these PSUs not only offer high packages but also provide job security and other perks. 

Study Abroad: Many GATE qualified candidates can also opt for study abroad option. Many foreign universities in Singapore and Germany accept GATE scores for admission to postgraduate engineering courses. Those who fulfill the minimum criteria of the GATE 2022 cutoff can also opt for going abroad for further studies. Some of the foreign universities that accept GATE scores are - the National University of Singapore (NUS), Technical University of Germany, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), RWTH ACHEN.
