With an aim to bring together representatives from the fields of politics, business, and bureaucracy, the Indian Institute of Management Indore is considering to rope in Mussorie based Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) to run a joint training programme for politicians, bureaucrats and businessmen. The training programme will help the representatives from the three fields to understand each other’s problems and find solutions.
IIM Indore Director, Himanshu Rai while speaking to the media said that the institute is considering tying up the Mussorie based Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration to prepare a blueprint of an executive training programme for the legislators, bureaucrats, and businessmen.
He also added that the programme will be conducted to bring together the representatives from all the three fields under one roof and promote an exchange of dialogue between them which will help them understand the problems faced by each other and find solutions with respect to working with ease. He has also added that the blueprint of the proposed programme will be prepared by January 2020.
He pointed out that with the help of the proposed curriculum, the institutions wish to make the topic more relevant to the India context to improve co-ordination among the lawmakers, officials, and businessmen and also help in speeding up the country’s development process. The idea about the training programme came after the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between IIM Indore and Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in order to strengthen the technical co-operation between both the institutions.
Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration is a training institute for civil servants wherein newly recruited officers of the 22 services including IAS, IFS, and IRS undergo training at the academy before they join service.
Along with providing training for the new recruits, the academy also offers programmes for mid-career civil servants and those who wish to get a promotion. Serving officers are allowed a study leave from 6 months to two years in case they are interested in pursuing higher education.
