The Himachal Pradesh School Education Board has cancelled the HP Board class 10 examinations due to the COVID-19 situation in the state. According to reports, the HP Board class 10 students will be evaluated based on their performance in the examinations conducted in the previous academic year.
Evaluation Criteria for HP Board class 10
The criteria for evaluating the HP Board class 10 students was discussed in a virtual meeting conducted with the board officials and the teachers. As per an official statement released, the final results of the students will be calculated based on the performance of the students in the first and second term and the marks secured in the pre-board exams and the internal assessment marks secured by the students. The evaluation criteria for the students of the Open school will however is yet to be finalised.
HP Board class 10 and 12 schedule
Taking into account the COVID-19 pandemic, Himachal Pradesh had earlier postponed the HP Board class 12 exams. The HP Board class 10 and 12 examinations were scheduled to begin from April 13, 2021, and according to the date sheet given the class 10 regular and SOS exams were scheduled to be conducted from April 13 to 28, 2021 while the class 12 exams were to commence from April 13 to May 10, 2021.
The decision taken, to cancel and postpone the HP Board class 10 examinations were taken in order to avoid any overcrowding around the exam centre and break the chain of COVID-19 transmission.
