Goa to reopen schools for Class 10 and 12 students from 21st November, confirms CM Pramod Sawant

Goa Schools for 10th, 12th Class to Reopen from 21st November: As per the official announcement made by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Samant, physical in-person classes will begin for Class 10 and 12 students of Goa from 21st November onwards. Schools will reopen after a gap of 7 months to welcome students who are currently in 10th and 12th Class from 21st November 2020 onwards. Apart from this, the Chief Minister also said that decision with regards to starting of in-person classes for other class students will also be taken soon by the state government.

SOPs to be issued by Directorate of Education

Along with the confirming the date for resumption of classes for Class 10 and 12 students, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant also said that safety of students remains the top priority of his government. In line with this, he has instructed the Directorate of Education to issue necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) ahead of resumption of Classes. He also said that the decision to reopen schools for Class 10 and 12 students was taken by the state government after a thorough review with government officials and stakeholders in education domain. He also added that so far no final decision has been taken as far as starting classes for primary class students is concerned.

Practical Exams Must for Boards

Talking to reporters in Panaji, CM Sawant said that for Class 10 and 12 students, it is important to cover and complete the necessary syllabus for practical exams. Without completing the necessary practical training, students will not be able to appear for the final board exams. Therefore, it is important for students and teachers to focus on this and complete it on time.
