GATE 2025 Applications: IIT Roorkee will begin the GATE 2025 registration process will begin today, August 28, 2024. The link for students to register and apply for the GATE exam will be available on the official website shortly. Candidates awaiting the applications can check the eligibility criteria, documents required and application process here. Earlier, the registrations were to begin on August 24, 2024 which was then postponed to today.
The last date to apply for GATE 2025 is September 26, 2024. Before registering for GATE exams, candidates are advised to check through the eligibility criteria and application instructions carefully. The applications of candidates unable to fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria will not be considered for the entrance exam.
GATE 2025 Exam Dates
GATE 2025 will be held in February 2025 in the onlinen mode. The detailed subject-wise schedule will be available online soon. As per the dates given, GATE 2024 will be held on February 1, 2, 15 and 16, 2025. It must however be noted that there will be no international centres. Foreign or Indian nationals interested in appearing for the GATE exams must travel to India to appear for the exam.
GATE 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Before filing the GATE 2025 application, candidates are advised to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria.
- Candidates who are currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree program or who have completed any government-approved degree program in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities are eligible to appear for GATE 2025.
- Candidates who possess certification from any professional societies which conduct examinations in various fields of engineering must ensure that those examinations are approved by MoE/AICTE/UGC/ UPSC as being equivalent to B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Arch./ B.Planning, etc.
- Candidates who have obtained/are pursuing their qualifying degree from countries other than India: Must be currently in the 3rd or higher years or must have completed their Bachelor’s degree (of at least three years duration) in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities.

GATE 2025 Application Fee
The GATE application fee has to be submitted in the online mode after filling out the online application. The category wise fee details are provided below.

GATE 2025: Data Required for GATE Applications
Students applying for GATE 2025 must keep the following information ready with them
- Personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parents’ name, parents’ mobile number, etc.)
- Address for communication (including PIN code)
- Eligibility degree details
- GATE paper(s) and their codes in which the candidate wishes to appear
- THREE choices of GATE examination cities (from the same zone)
- Net-banking /debit card / credit card / UPI details for fee payment
GATE 2025: Documents Required to Filling Applications
Students applying must upload the following documents as per the size requirement in the applications.
- High quality image of candidate’s photograph conforming to the requirements specified in the Information Brochure.
- High quality image of candidate’s signature conforming to the requirements specified in the Information Brochure.
- Scanned copy of Category (SC/ST) certificate in pdf format (if applicable).
- Scanned copy of PwD Certificate in pdf format (if applicable).
- Scanned copy of Certificate of Dyslexia in pdf format (if applicable).
- Scanned copy of valid photo Identity document: Aadhar-UID (preferable)/ Passport/ PAN Card/ Voter ID/ Driving License.
- The photo ID must have the Name and date of birth of the candidate and unique photo ID number. This photo ID must be carried in original to the examination hall for verification.
