Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal while addressing the valedictory session of Kala Utsav 2020 stated that Kala Utsav has realized the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by giving the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ the right direction and shape. The minister also took the opportunity to appreciate the introduction of the indigenous toys and games segment in Kala Utsav 2020 emphasizing its merit of promoting Vocal for Local.
Kala Utsav Launched on January 10
According to a statement released, Kala Utsav 2020 was launched online on January 10, 2021, digitally with a total of 35 teams participating in Kala Utsav from different states, Union Territories along with Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Schools. Close to 287 girls and 289 boys participating in Kala Utsav 2020 which includes four divyang participants.
NEP 2020 emphasizes on the promotion of arts
During the Kala Utsav 2020 Valedictory session, the union Education Minister also mentioned the National Education Policy stating that the New NEP 2020 emphasizes the promotion of arts and culture through education. The union minister has also asked the educational institutions to promote art and culture via education.
Recommendations of NEP 2020 incorporated
The minister also stated that Kala Utsav 2020 has also incorporated the recommendations of the National Education Policy 2020. The students use their imagination while indulging in any of the art forms, giving it life turning it into reality.
The statement further adds that the Kala Utsav gives students an opportunity to the process of art while opportunities enhance the reasoning, comprehensibility, problem solving, cognitive and decisive abilities helping in the all-round development of the students.
