With the air pollution levels slightly improving in Delhi, it is likely that the government might ease a few restrictions with respect to the reopening of the schools in the Capital. According to latest media reports Delhi CM has confirmed that the decision on the reopening of the schools will be taken after the winter vacations conclude. The reopening of the schools is being questioned by people in spite of the schools reporting a decent attendance as parents were not interested in sending the children to schools for offline classes.
Government ready with precautions
According to reports, the Chief Minister in his tweet stated the government is ready to tackle the Omicron threat and if necessary restrictions will be imposed. He further stated that at present there is no such need to impose any restrictions and a decision on the reopening of the schools will be taken after winter vacations end.
Schools in Delhi were earlier asked to shut down due to poor air quality. The decision was announced on December 3, 2021, after the Supreme Court raised concerns over the increasing air pollution levels in the city. Although the schools were asked to stay closed for offline classes, the CBSE class 10 and 12 Term 1 Exams were conducted as per schedule.
Lesser number of students managable
As per reports, parents, teachers, students, school managements and others are in splits over the idea of the reopening of the schools in Delhi as there are some groups that are not keen on starting offline classes as off yet since most of the schools are busy with the CBSE 10th and 12th Term 1 Board exams. Since most of the schools in Delhi are self-centers for the CBSE board exams along with the ongoing Omicron Crisis schools have stated that they are content with the lesser number of students as it is easier to manage and also a better option for the safety of everyone involved.
