CUET UG 2024 Registration: The Common University Entrance Test (CUET 2024) application form for admission to undergraduate (UG) courses will tentatively be released by February 28, 2024. The National Testing Agency (NTA) may hold the entrance exam in a hybrid mode to allow students from rural areas to participate.
The CUET UG 2024 exam is scheduled between May 15 to May 31, 2024. As per reports, the registration process for the CUET UG 2024 entrance test will begin in another 10 to 11 days. The application form was expected to be out on February 19, 2024. However, there has been no official announcement by the NTA on the CUET UG 2024 registration date.
About 250 universities will offer admission to various undergraduate courses through CUET UG 2024 score. Candidates must note that qualifying CUET 2024 exam will not confirm their admission at the applied university as each institute will have separate selection criteria.
Expected Changes In CUET UG 2024 Exam
According to media reports, the CUET UG exam 2024 will be conducted in a hybrid mode this year to encourage the participation of students from rural areas. The examination will be held in a computer-based test (CBT) mode for the subjects with the highest number of registrations.
Additionally, candidates will be given a choice from 6 subjects as compared to the previous year when there were 10 subject choices. The reduction in the number of subject choices is done as the maximum number of subjects opted for by the previous year's candidates was 5.
Moreover, nearly 28 lakh students participated in the second edition of CUET, making it the second-largest entrance exam in the country after NEET UG.
CUET UG 2024 Admission: Mumbai Colleges Opt Out
Recently, two Mumbai universities namely Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics and Mithibai College of Arts opted out of CUET UG 2024. These colleges will consider the marks scored by students in Class 12 for admission purposes. According to reports, these universities opted out of CUET 2024 as the schedule of the entrance exam does not align with the timetable followed by the Mumbai colleges.
