
Chhattisgarh Lockdown News: According to the official update, the Chhattisgarh State Government has decided to order closure of all schools and colleges in the state owing to the massive spike in the COVID-19 cases in the state. All Educational Institutions in the state have been ordered to shift to online mode of learning and all offline classes have been suspended with immediate effect. In addition to this, all institutions have been asked to manage academic and non-academic staffers of colleges and universities to attend their workplace in one-third of their total strength on the basis of roster method. The orders would apply till a new announcement is made and no specific date is known yet.
Exams to be held in Hybrid Mode
While all educational institutions have been shut down for offline classes, the guidelines for holding college exams are a little different. Going by the PTI report, colleges and higher education institutions have been asked to hold 1st and 2nd semester exams for all courses in a hybrid mode. This means that it would be at the discretion of the institution to conduct the Semester Exams either in online mode or offline mode or in a mixed way.
Earlier, the state government had ordered schools to be closed in districts or areas where the COVID-19 case positivity rate goes beyond 4%. In the last few weeks, the state has reported rapid rise in the number of Coronavirus infections. On Wednesday – 12th January, the state reported over 10,000 cases with over 4 deaths. To safeguard young students, the state government has also decided to ramp-up the vaccination drive the eligible population, including those in the age-group 15 to 18.
