The Centre for Cultural Resources and Training at the Ministry of Culture has announced 400 scholarships for young artists to be awarded for their outstanding performance in the different fields. The students who have been awarded scholarships belong to the fields of Indian Classical Music, Indian Classical Dances, Light Classical Music, Theatre, Visual Arts, Folk, Traditional, and Indigenous Arts.

The details regarding the scholarships can be found on the official website of the Ministry of Culture. The scholarship is provided with an aim to provide assistance to young artistes for advanced training within the country.

Candidates interested to avail the scholarships can visit the official website of the Ministry of Culture to apply for the same. The last date to submit the application for the scholarship programme is December 5, 2019. Candidates can also follow the instructions provided below to apply for the scholarship programme.

Steps to Register

Step 1: Registration: Candidates need to first complete the registration process by visiting the registration link on the website

Step 2: Application: After completing the registration process candidates can click on the login page and enter the login details like the user name and password.

Step 3: Complete the application and submit.

Candidates must note that the applicants for the scholarship must be between the age of 18 to 25 with a minimum 5 years of training and adequate knowledge in the concerned discipline. Students who are selected for the scholarship will be provided with Rs. 5000 per month for a tenure of two years.

The students will be required to undergo training including the practice of a minimum of three hours a day along with theory classes.

Candidates will be selected for the scholarship based on the interview and performance before an expert committee. The schedule for the interview and performance will be provided to the candidates via the registered email ID. It must also be noted that the selection of the candidates for the scholarship programme will be on the basis of merit only.
