CBSE Counselling Programme: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is initiating a psychological counselling programme from today: January 1, 2024. The programme aims to provide students and parents with the tools and techniques to reduce exam burden. CBSE Class 10, 12 board exams 2024 shall begin on January 1 and continue till February 15, 2024. 

The CBSE psychological counselling programme will run in two phases. The first one will be held before the exam and the second one will be commenced after the result announcement to act as a stress buster for Class 10 and 12 students. 

CBSE has been holding this programme since 1998; this year, it will be the 26th psychological programme. The board has been engaging with students via YouTube, Instagram, facebook, and other social media platforms to share important information over the years. 

“Audio-visual content on youth experiences, aggression, depression, internet addiction disorder, examination stress, multimedia content on various topics such as specific learning disabilities, substance use disorders, and life skills to deal with them can also be viewed and listened to.” said CBSE in a statement.

  • IVRS: During CBSE counselling sessions, parents and students can have free access to IVRS facilities by calling the toll-free number: 1800-11-8004. It will provide important contact details for CBSE offices, frequently asked questions (FAQs), stress-free exam prep tips,  time and stress management in both English and Hindi.
  • Podcasts: Students can access informative as well as engaging bilingual podcasts on various subjects related to preparation and stress management at cbse.gov.in.
