With the board examinations approaching, the Bihar state health department has decided to vaccinate the students who will be taking the board examinations in the coming months. The department has stated that the students will be vaccinated by January 26, 2022.
The State health department on Friday issued a letter to all the district magistrates (DMs) and Civil Surgeons for forming a task force to vaccinate the board exam students between the age group of 15 to 18 on priority.
Vaccination on Priority
Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Pratyay Amrit stated that a state-wide vaccination drive for adolescents between the age of 15 to 18 is already being conducted and since a large number of students are expected to participate in the Bihar state board exams and other board exams in the coming months, the department aims to vaccinate all the students who fall under the vaccination eligibility before January 26, 2022.
He further added that the District Magistrates have been asked to form a task force at the district level and block level for achieving the target. He also stated that those schools which finish the drive within the time period will be awarded on the occasion of Republic Day.
According to media reports, around 32 lakh students have registered to appear for the Class 10 and 12 examinations conducted by different education boards.
The Bihar Board Class 10 and 12 examinations 2022 are scheduled to be conducted in February. The BSEB Class 10 exams will be conducted from February 17 to 24, 2022, while the BSEB Class 12 exams will be conducted from February 1 to 14, 2022.
In Bihar roughly 2 Lakh students are expected to appear for the CBSE board exams from Patna Zone and 18000 students will be taking the ICSE Examinations.

Vaccination Details
According to Patna DM Chandra Shekhar Singh, around 1.27 lakh students between ages 15 to 17 have taken the COVID vaccinations between January 3 to 14, 2022. Approximately 48 vaccination centres in the urban areas are facilitating vaccinations for adolescents and the vaccination camps are being set up at different private and government schools for vaccinating the school students.
Reopen schools for vaccinations
Private Schools and Children Welfare Association has demanded that schools be reopened for the vaccination of students. The association's National President Shamael Ahmad stated that the Reopening of Schools is important for completing the vaccination drive which is targeted at the board students. Since the schools are closed many students are not taking an interest in getting themselves vaccinated and hence demands reopening schools for class 8 to 12 students have been made along with setting up vaccination camps for eligible students.
