AP to reopen schools on 3rd August 2020: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has confirmed that schools across AP will reopen from 3rd August 2020. Along with reopening of schools, the state-government also plans to launch YSR Vidhya Kanuka for students on the same day. The decision to reopen schools across Andhra Pradesh was taken by the Chief Minister in a high-level review meeting with School Education Department. He instructed the officials from school education department to take the necessary steps to complete all preparation for reopening of schools from 3rd August 2020 onwards.
Schools to reopen with Social Distancing Norms in Place
According to the latest update, schools across the state of Andhra Pradesh will reopen from 3rd August 2020 with social distancing norms and processes in place. AP CM has instructed officials to make all the necessary preparations to ensure complete safety of students’ and their health before the schools reopen. He asked officials to ensure that all the necessary protocols and precautionary measures are put in place before schools reopen on 3rd August 2020.
School Renovation to be Completed Soon
Along with putting in place the necessary processes and guidelines about social distancing, AP Chief Minister has also asked officials from school education department to complete renovation of schools soon. He said that all schools that require renovation must get the work completed promptly under the ‘Nadu-Nedu’ scheme. He said that the state government has already allocated Rs 15751 Crore as part of the Phase 1 of ‘Nadu-Nedu’ scheme which can be used to complete the renovation work. As part of the renovation process, chief minister has asked officials to ensure 9 key elements in every school across the state which include play ground, library, science laboratory, computer laboratory, proper toilets and others.
YSR Vidhya Kanuka to launch on 3rd August 2020

To help students, the chief minister also announced launch of YSR Vidhya Kanuka Scheme. Under this scheme, students will be provided with uniform, books, belt, shoes, and sock at the start of the new academic session. The scheme will go live from 3rd August 2020, the same as the reopening of schools.
